BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Bucknell University men’s and women’s water polo head coach/United States National Team assistant coach John McBride and Brown University men’s water polo assistant coach Jake Ehrhardt were unable to lead the United States to victory against Italy as the Americans dropped a 9-8 contest in the 2025 World Aquatics World Championship Seventh Place game.

Ehrhardt played 8:41 for the United States as the Americans kept pace with the Italians in the first quarter to exit the frame tied at three-all. Italy gained a lead in the second quarter to push ahead by a 5-4 count entering halftime. The teams played even in the second half with both teams scoring twice in the third and fourth quarters as the Italians kept the United States at bay in escaping with a one-goal victory.
