PRINCETON, N.J. — The Bucknell University women’s water polo team secured a 9-8 win over Siena College to close out the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University on a high note.

Senior attacker Isabelle Monaghan scored four goals to continue a trend as she tallied four or more goals in three of the Bison’s four games played this weekend.

Bucknell emerged with high intensity, eager for a victory. Monaghan tallied a pair of goals to start and earn the Bison an early lead. Junior attackers Boati Motau and Sidney Finkler also netted a goal apiece to extend the lead for Bucknell to 4-2.

Freshman attacker Rebecca Currie netted four goals for Siena. The Saints tried to narrow the margin even more when freshman attacker Catherine Williamson scored two.

Bucknell remained relentless as sophomore Bella Schraa and freshman Caitlin Stott each netted a goal to push its lead to 8-5 in the third quarter. Monaghan had her fourth and final goal at 1:35 in the fourth quarter. Despite Siena’s efforts, it never managed to get the game tied.
