2019 Colonial Division Men’s Schedule
Colonial Division Schedule Notes
The division’s competitive format is comprised of two regional tournaments and a championship weekend. During the regular season, teams play every opponent once and two opponents twice. The division voted unanimously that the additional two games are determined by like competitiveness where the top four teams from the previous season are used to select their two additional games randomly within that group and the bottom three teams for their additional two games.Â
Please Note:Â As of Thursday, October 17th, both Amherst College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute have decided not to attend the Colonial Division Championship which would be considered committing a “No Contest” by league rules. While both teams will have the ability to appeal to the Governance Council, we will need to revise the seeding and the championship schedule accordingly. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy has agreed to include a “B” Squad in order to have a six team format and will take the sixth position. No team will be required to arrive to Middlebury College any earlier than originally scheduled. Please review the schedule to confirm your new seeding and game times.

*Williams College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Middlebury College finished in a regular season tie and tiebreakers must be implemented. Due to Middlebury forfeiting games, the team is eliminated for consideration and assumes the lowest position (No. 6). Williams wins a tiebreaker versus WPI on goal differential with a 15-11 win and an 18-17 loss for a +3 differential. However, since both Amherst College and WPI are committing a “No Contest” by league rules, all teams will advance their seeding with U.S. Coast Guard Academy entering a “B” Squad to take the lowest position (No. 6).
