2017 Atlantic Division Men’s Schedule
Atlantic Division Schedule Notes
As of Friday, September 29th, there has been a schedule revision for games at James Madison University. Please review game times closely for the changes. This change was caused by Washington & Lee Universities withdraw from the weekend, the team will be suspended for the remainder of the year as well as next season in accordance to league rules determined by membership. Washington & Lee can appeal the decision to the Club Governance Council.
The Atlantic Division voted in 6-4 in favor of championship being held on November 4-5th at the U.S. Naval Academy. In order to preserve an eleven team field, and allow the top eight teams to compete for the overall championship, North Carolina State has agreed to provide a “B” squad to fill in for Washington & Lee University who was suspended after committing a no-contest during the regular season.

2017 Atlantic Men Standings
wdt_ID Final Standing Regular Season Standing Team Win Loss Points Win (Final Standings) Loss (Final Standings)
Due to the University of Virginia, the University of Maryland and Duke University not playing each other (although Duke played both Maryland and Virginia), the No. 5-7 positions are decided by goal differential against higher seeded opponents. Since not all three teams played Johns Hopkins University, the University of North Carolina or the United States Naval Academy, the highest common opponent is Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Maryland claims the No. 5 seed due to a -3 differential (13-10 L) as Virginia fell to Virginia Tech by a 15-10 final score for a -5 differential. Duke played Virginia Tech twice, losing 13-12 and 18-11, for an average differential of -4. The No. 6 position is awarded to Duke due to a 17-3 head-to-head win versus Virginia.
In order to preserve an eleven team field, and allow the top eight teams to compete for the overall championship, North Carolina State has agreed to provide a “B” squad to fill in for Washington & Lee University who was suspended after committing a no-contest during the regular season.
