2018 Texas Division Men’s Schedule

Texas Division Schedule Notes

As of Saturday, October 27th, Southern Methodist University decided not to attend the championship weekend and commit a “no-contest.” The SMU team had previously been granted the opportunity to continue the season not traveling to the Texas Tech weekend due to not having a complete roster and needing to forfeit the games based on the travel distance. The team had provided both verbal and written documentation they were committed  to participate the remainder of the season. Based on the fact the team was granted a second opportunity to compete, and now committing a second “no-contest”, the Southern Methodist University program will be suspended for the 2019-20 school year and must complete several requirements (including paying any outstanding balances owed) before they will be considered for membership in the future.

As of Thursday, October 25th, the Sunday schedule championship schedule as been revised to allow Texas Tech an earlier departure based on the distance their team will be traveling. This will ensure the team has enough time to arrive back on campus at a reasonable hour on Sunday evening as well as stop for dinner on their return trip. Please be sure to review the schedule.

Southern Methodist University’s inability to attend the Texas Tech weekend is being recorded as “forfeits.” Games that were revised in order to give teams four games will be considered “exhibition” and those teams will receive forfeit wins over SMU.

As of Thursday, September 20th, the Rice University East Regional event game times on Sunday, September 30th have been revised with the first game starting at 11:00AM. Please be sure to review the schedule for corrected hours.

The crossover tournament at Texas A&M University will be played in two adjacent pools due to the number of games scheduled to be played.

As of Thursday, August 16, 2018, the University of Texas – Arlington notified the office they do not plan to participate this season which results in an eleven team division. During the weekend of Sept. 29-30, the Texas A&M “A” vs. Texas A&M “B” will go down as a 5-0 forfeit based on league rules. Austin College will attend this weekend at Rice University to play three exhibition games. This will give both Texas A&M A” and Texas A&M “B” four games while host Rice will receive a fifth.
