* Due to the University of Utah, the University of Colorado and the U.S. Air Force Academy all finishing 3-5, a tiebreaker is utilized to seed the No. 3-to-5 positions in the field. Per league policy, “if more than two teams are tied in won/loss records, goal differentials among the teams tied serves as the tiebreaker to determine the best team within the group until only two teams remain. The final two teams use their head-to-head results to break the tie. If the top two teams based on goal differentials are tied, the tie is broken with the results of their head-to-head competition.” As Air Force defeated (8-5 W) and lost to Utah (5-3 L) for a +1 differential and defeated Colorado (10-9 W) for a +2 differential compared to Colorado (5-4 W vs. Utah, 10-9 L vs. Colorado for a 0 differential) and Utah (5-4 L vs. Colorado, 5-3 W and 8-5 L vs. Air Force for a -2 differential), Air Force claims the No. 3 seed. The tiebreaker then reverts back to head-to-head to decide the No. 4 seed between Utah and Colorado with Colorado claiming the spot courtesy a 5-4 victory.
