BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Hall of Fame member/former Brown University men’s swimming and water polo coach/former University of Alabama Aquatics Director, swim coach, collegiate club water polo coach/CWPA, Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC), Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Coordinator of Officials Ed Reed closed out the U.S. Masters Swimming 2023 Summer Nationals in Sarasota, Fla., by winning the 400 meter individual medley in the 80-84 men’s age group.

Swimming for Tamalpais Aquatic Masters (TAM), Reed cruised to victory in the event by over 10 seconds as he touched the wall in 7:38.09, 10.01 seconds faster than runner-up Dave Noble of Missouri Valley Masters (MOVY).

The finish marks the second victory and fourth Top Two mark at the Summer Nationals for Reed as he claimed the 200 meter individual medley in a time of 3:27.60.  He previously placed second in the 100 meter breaststroke (1:42.47), 200 meter freestyle (2:53.51) and the 200 meter breaststroke (3:50.65) earlier in the week.
