BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela.
To aid in the education of the league’s officiating corps, the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) provides a Referee Education Video Library and a Referee Education Series on the league website which details hand signals, table management and situational examinations.
The CWPA Technical Committee has been an invaluable component of the organization’s referee education program via the development of their on-site evaluation process to dramatically improve the quality of refereeing in the sport over the past decade.
Due to the continental span of the league, the ability to directly impact each official is not possible without a wider means of education To aid in this effort, the CWPA launched a Referee Education Video Library with hopes of providing a greater impact on officiating in the sport.
By making the league’s education program readily available – and free – it is the hope of the CWPA that irregardless if an individual is a veteran official or just beginning the process to become a referee, this open source library provides all levels of officials an opportunity to achieve the standards that have made CWPA Referees respected across the country.
