BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Stanford University remains the undisputed top team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2019 Week 13/April 17 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Division III), the University of Michigan (CWPA Top 10) and Macalester College (CWPA Division III Top Five) retain No. 1 status in their respective rankings.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2019 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 13/April 17)
Stanford University continues to reign at No. 1 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
Stanford (100 points) leads a Top 25 which experiences major adjustments from the Week 12/April 10 version of the poll.
The University of Southern California (96 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (92 points), the University of California (88 points) and the University of Hawaii (81 points) continue at No. 2-to-5, respectively, behind the Cardinal.
The University of Michigan (78 points) reacquires sole possession of the No. 6 position as the University of California-Irvine (76 points) slips back to No. 7. The University of the Pacific (74 points), the University of California-Davis (66 points), Arizona State University (64 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (63 points) remain at No. 8-to-11 with Loyola Marymount University (54 points) and Long Beach State University (53 points) trading the No. 12 and 13 berths.
The University of California-San Diego (46 points) and Princeton University (41 points) remain at No. 14 and 15, while Harvard University (37 points), San Diego State University (36 points) and Fresno State University (32 points) rise and fall to account for No. 16-to-18.
Wagner College (29 points), San Jose State University (26 points), Bucknell University (25 points), Marist College (15 points), California State University-Northridge (11 points), Azusa Pacific University (7 points) and California Baptist University (5 points) complete the Top 25.

2019 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 13/April 17)
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continues to hold the top spot in the Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
The Sagehens (100 points) lead a Top 10 which experiences only one change as California Lutheran University (95 points), the University of La Verne (89 points), Whittier College (84 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (82 points) and the University of Redlands (73 points) remain at No. 2-to-6.
The sole adjustment comes at No. 7 as Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Maclaester College (64 points) moves up one position to drop Chapman University (55 points) back to No. 8.
Occidental College (51 points) and Austin College (49 points) remain at No. 9-to-10, respectively, for another week.

The league poll experiences no changes among the Top 10 teams this week as Michigan (100 points), Princeton University (95 points), Bucknell University (90 points), Harvard University (85 points), Brown University (80 points), George Washington University (75 points), Saint Francis University (70 points), Macalester College (65 points), Austin College (60 points) and Monmouth College (55 points) retain their previous berths.

Macalester College, which three-peated over the weekend by capturing the program’s third consecutive Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Diivsion III crown, wraps up the 2019 season at No. 1 in the final CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.
Macalester (100 points), which rates with Grove City College (2010-2012) and Connecticut College (2013-2016) as the only teams to ever claim the CWPA Division III league crown, remain a unanimous top pick as the Scots hold a final six-point lead over CWPA Division III Championship runner-up Austin College (94 points).
Monmouth College (91 points), Carthage College (85 points) and Grove City (48 points) complete the Top Five as the poll’s order reflects the final standings from the CWPA Division III Championship.
