2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division schedule.

Comprised of California Polytechnic State University “A”, California Polytechnic State University “B”, California State University-Long Beach, the University of California-Los Angeles, the University of California-Santa Barbara “A”, the University of California-Santa Barbara “B”, the University of California-San Diego “A” and the University of California-San Diego “A”, the Pacific Coast Division will contest its 23rd season as part of the league with Cal Poly (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2018), California Baptist University (1999), UCLA (2005, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013), the University of Southern California (2011, 2017, 2019), San Diego State University (2014) and Long Beach State (2015, 2016) previously claiming titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, October 9-10, at UC-San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., with 16 games prior to continuing at UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif., with 16 games on Saturday-Sunday, October 16-17.

The championship season features two events as the No. 4, 5 and 6 teams from the Southwest Division will take on the No. 5 6, 7 and 8 teams from the Pacific Coast Division in an 11-game “B” Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 23-24, at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

A week later, the top four teams from the Pacific Coast compete at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. against the Southwest Division’s top three in the 11-game “A” Championship.

The top finishing Southwest and Pacific Coast Division teams at the Pacific Coast/Southwest “A” Championship earn automatic berths to the 2021 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated to be hosted by the University of Alabama at the Huntsville Aquatic Center in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday-Sunday, November 12-14.  In addition, the team which finishes in the middle of the Southwest and Pacific Coast divisions earn the opportunity to compete in the newly established National Invitational on Friday-Sunday, December 3-5, at a site to be determined against teams that claimed the top spot in the lower half of their divisions.
