BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Week 5/October 19 Polls.
Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.
2023 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 5)
2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of California-San Diego gains company at No. 1 as California Polytechnic State University pulls even with the Tritons to tie at the top of the Week 5/October 19 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 rankings for the 2023 season.
UC-San Diego (97 points) and Cal Poly (97 points) lead a Top 20 in which clarity on where programs rank in the nation remains elusive.
Sierra Pacific Division Champion the University of California (90 points) moves up four positions to take over at No. 3, while previously unranked the University of California-Irvine (84 points) ascends to No. 4. The University of Texas (71 points), Dartmouth College (70 points), the University of Florida (66 points), the University of Michigan (62 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (60 points) and Washington University in St. Louis (49 points) complete a new look Top 10.
Northwest Division Champion the University of Oregon (48 points), California State University-Chico (40 points), Michigan State University (36 points), the University of Colorado (29 points) and San Diego State University (26 points) rate at No. 11-to-15, while Baylor University (19 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (19 points) tie at No. 16.
The Georgia Institute of Technology (17 points), Florida International University (14 points) and Arizona State University (11 points) complete the Top 20.
The 2023 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center on Friday-Sunday, November 10-12.

2023 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 5)
The 2023 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll experiences significant shifts this week behind Washington University in St. Louis which stays at No. 1 in the Week 5/October 19 voting.
A seven-time Division III Collegiate Club National Champion, Washington (100 points) becomes a unanimous No. 1 pick.
Behind the Bears, the remainder of the Top 10 is jumbled from the Week 4 voting as Carnegie Mellon University (90 points) and Macalester College (90 points) move into a tie at No. 2 to start the changes.
New York University (85 points) – which ranked at No. 2 last week – slides back to No. 4 with Tufts University (84 points) and Augustana College (76 points) completing the Top Six.
Grinnell College (69 points) cracks the Top 10 at No. 7, while Amherst College (66 points), Bowdoin College (47 points) and the United States Coast Guard Academy (34 points) round out the Top 10.
