2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division schedule.
Arizona State University “A”, Arizona State University “B”, San Diego State University “A”, San Diego State University “B”, the University of Arizona, the University of California-Irvine, the University of California-Riverside, the University of California-San Diego “A” and the University of California-San Diego “B” will compete in the Southwest Division during the group’s 24th season of action in the CWPA.
Arizona (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009), the University of Colorado (1998, 2001), Arizona State (2008, 2010), San Diego State (2016, 2017, 2021) and UC-San Diego (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024) have combined to claim the previous 23 titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Southwest Division did not compete as a group in 2011.
Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5, with 18 games at UC-San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., with unique rules. On Saturday, October 4, the first nine games will use five-minute quarters with overtime and timeouts not being utilized. Game times expand to six-minutes for the nine games on Sunday, October 5, with overtime and timeouts remaining excluded to fit in all the games due to time constraints.
The regular season concludes on Saturday-Sunday, October 18-19, at San Diego State in San Diego, Calif., with another 18-game weekend that will use five-minute quarters with overtime and timeouts remaining prohibited.
The 14-game Southwest Division Championship is set for Saturday-Sunday, October 25-26, at Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., with the victor claiming the division’s bid to the 2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 7-9, at a site to be determined. Currently, the Southwest Division is anticipated to host the National Collegiate Club Championship as both the host institution and the division champion (or runner-up if the division champion also serves as host for the National Championship) will make the field.
