BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 14/April 23 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

The final week of regular season competition leading up to the league championships on Friday-Sunday, April 25-27, concludes with the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) dislodging the University of Southern California from the lead position in the Top 25 following a 13-9 victory by the Bruins.  Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) regular season champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains a unanimous top selection in the Division III Top 10 balloting, while Princeton University and CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College remain steady at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I & III Top 5 polls, respectively.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.

2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 14)

Following a 13-9 defeat of previously top-ranked the University of Southern California over the weekend, the University of California-Los Angeles takes over at No. 1 in the Week 14/April 23 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

UCLA (98 points) – which rated at No. 3 last week – surpasses both USC (95 points) and Stanford University (95 points) for the No. 1 berth with the Trojans and Cardinal tying at No. 2.The University of Hawaii (87 points). 

The University of California (86 points) catches up to the University of Hawaii (86 points) as the Golden Bears tie the Rainbow Wahine at No. 4. 

Long Beach State University (80 points), the University of California-Irvine (76 points) and Fresno State (72 points) remain consistent at No. 6-to-8, respectively, with Loyola Marymount University (64 points) rising one position to claim the No. 9 berth this week.

Arizona State University (62 points) and Princeton University (62 points) rise and fall into a tie at No. 10, while Indiana University (54 points) and the University of California-San Diego (54 points) are deadlocked at No. 12.

San Jose State University (51 points), Harvard University (46 points), the University of Michigan (38 points) and the University of California-Davis (37 points) rate at No. 14-to-17 with Wagner College (29 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (29 points) tying at No. 18,

Brown University (23 points), University of the Pacific (21 points), San Diego State University (18 points) and Marist College (10 points) stand at No. 20-to-23 with the duo of California State University-Northridge (6 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (6 points) tying at No. 24 to complete the Top 25.

2025 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 14)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continues at No. 1 in the Week 14/April 23 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), Chapman University (89 points), California Lutheran University (86 points), the University of La Verne (79 points), Occidental College (71 points), Augustana College (70 points), Washington & Jefferson College (69 points), Macalester College (60 points) and Austin College (56 points) retain the No. 1-to-10 positions with no changes from the Week 13/April 16 voting.

Princeton University stays at No. 1 in the Week 14/April 23 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 5 Poll.

2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton (97 points) leads a Top Five which experiences no changes with Harvard University (95 points), 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion the University of Michigan (93 points), Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) remaining at No. 1-to-5 heading into this weekend’s league championship tournament at Brown’s Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.

Three-time CWPA Champion (2023, 2024, 2025) Augustana College (97 points), Washington & Jefferson College (96 points) hang on at No. 1 and 2, while 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (91 points) and 2021 and 2022 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Austin College (85 points) remain at No. 3 and 4.

Carthage College (80 points) completes the Top Five.
