BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 4/February 12 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

The University of Southern California gains company at No. 1 in the National Top 25 rankings as Stanford University pulls even with the Trojans.  Pomona-Pitzer Colleges – which garnered the 2024 USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Championship – retains its prior status in the Division III Top 10 balloting.

Harvard University and the University of Michigan take over at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five, while Augustana College remains at No. 1 in the CWPA Division III Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.

2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 4)

The University of Southern California and Stanford University share the No. 1 ranking in the Week 4/February 12 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

The Trojans (98 points) – which held a 98-to-97 lead over the Cardinal last week – gain company in the lead position among women’s varsity programs as the two long-time rivals both hold No. 1 status this week.  The University of California-Los Angeles (92 points), the University of California (88 points), the University of Hawaii (84 points) and the University of California-Irvine (77 points) continue at No. 3-to-6, respectively.

The University of California-Davis (74 points) and Fresno State (74 points) ascend into a tie at No. 7 with Long Beach State University (70 points) and Arizona State University (62 points) rounding out the Top 10 in the final two positions.

The University of California-San Diego (68 points) and Harvard University (68 points) rise into a tie at No. 11 with Princeton University (51 points) slipping back to No. 13.

Loyola Marymount University (46 points) hangs on at No. 14 with Wagner College (45 points) jumping five spots to assume the No. 15 berth.

Indiana University (40 points) and the University of Michigan (40 points) share the No. 16 slot, while the University of California-Santa Barbara (32 points), San Jose State University (30 points), University of the Pacific (23 points), San Diego State University (20 points) and California State University-Northridge (10 points) rearrange to rate at No. 17-to-22.

Marist College (6 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3 points) move into a tie at No. 23, while Brown University (5 points) and Villanova University (5 points) deadlock at No. 25 to complete the poll.

2025 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 4)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 in the Week 4/February 12Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) remains a unanimous top selection and expands its prior five point lead over runner-up Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (94 points) to six points this week. 

California Lutheran University (90 points), Chapman University (86 points), the University of La Verne (77 points) and Augustana College (76 points) remain at No. 3-to-6, respectively, with the duo of Macalester College (69 points) and Austin College (65 points) rising up the ranks to assume the No. 7 and 8 spots.

Occidental College (57 points) and Whittier College (38 points) conclude the Top 10.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 5 (Week 4)

Harvard University and the University of Michigan surpass defending Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion Princeton University to tie at No. 1 in the Week 4/February 12 CWPA Division I Top Five Poll.

Harvard (97 points) – which knocked off Princeton by a 7-6 score at home in Cambridge, Mass., over the weekend – moves up three places, while 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (97 points) inches up one spot. 

2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton (91 points) falls back to No. 3 with Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (64 points) again round ingout the remainder of the Top Five.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 5 (Week 4)

2023 and 2024 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College continues as the top-ranked program in the Week 4/February 12 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

The Vikings (100 points) are a unanimous top selection and hold a seven point lead over 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (93 points) and an eight-point advantage compared to 2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (92 points).

Washington & Jefferson College (66 points) and Carthage College (66 points) complete the Top Five by tying at No. 4.
