2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Sierra Pacific Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases changes to the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Sierra Pacific Division schedule following the decision of the University of Nevada-Reno to not compete this season.

Now comprised of California State Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime), California State University-Chico, California State University-Monterey Bay, San Jose State University, Stanford University, the University of California, the University of California-Davis, the University of California-Santa Cruz and the University of San Francisco, the Sierra Pacific Division will contest its 13th season in the CWPA with UC-Santa Cruz (2011), California (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023) and Cal Maritime (2019) combining to claim all 12 previous championship titles.  The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The schedule of games during the lone regular season weekend at Cal Maritime in Vallejo, Calif., on Saturday-Sunday, October 12-13, is revised for the absence of Nevada-Reno to an 18-contest event.  Due to time constraints, all games will use six-minute quarters with no overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.

The division championship will be decided a week later on Saturday-Sunday, October 19-20, as Cal Maritime hosts the 14-game event.  Due to a decreased number of games, regulation collegiate club rules (i.e., seven-minute quarters, overtime, etc.) will be utilized in the now nine-team championship field.

The victor of the division championship earns an automatic berth to the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, at a site to be determined.
