2023 Women’s Collegiate Club New York Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases a revised 2023 Women’s Collegiate Club New York Division schedule.

Due to Colgate University and Hamilton College electing to field a joint team due to an insufficient number of athletes to compete as individual institutions, the division membership shrinks to five teams with Colgate/Hamilton, Columbia University, Cornell University, Hamilton College, New York University and Syracuse University contesting the New York Division’s 20th season of competition.

In the history of the group, Columbia (2001, 2003, 2007, 2013, 2017), NYU (2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016), Cornell (2005, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018) and former division member Hartwick College (2020) hold prior championship crowns.  The 2020 and 2021 seasons were lost to COVID-19, while the New York Division did not contest a season in 2022.

Competition begins on the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, February 4-5, at Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y., with 10 contests prior to the regular season concluding on Saturday-Sunday, March 4-5, with an additional 10 games at Hamilton in Clinton, N.Y.

The regular season competition establishes the seeding for the New York Division Championship on a date to be determined at Columbia in New York, N.Y.  Due to Colgate and Hamilton competing as a single institution, the championship format and schedule is adjusted to a five-team event.

The victor of the New York Division Championship earns the group’s automatic berth to the 2023 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at a site to be determined.
