2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases an updated 2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division schedule.

Duke University, Georgetown University, James Madison University, North Carolina State University, the United States Naval Academy, the University of Maryland, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Virginia and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) will contest the 25th season of Atlantic Division competition with the University of Richmond (2000), Georgetown (2001, 2002, 2005), Virginia (2003, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), North Carolina-Chapel Hill (2004, 2010, 2011, 2012), Virginia Tech (2006, 2007, 2009, 2017), Duke (2008, 2014, 2016), Maryland (2013, 2015) and Navy (2018, 2019) previously claiming titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, September 20-21, at Maryland in College Park, Md., with 18 games. Due to time limitations, games will use five-minute quarters with neither timeouts nor overtime utilized during the weekend.

The second regular season tournament moves to Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., as a 15-game weekend will occur on Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5.  Due to limited pool time, and similar to the Maryland tournament, games will use five-minute quarters with neither timeouts nor overtime utilized during the weekend.  Further, six of the nine teams in the division will receive three games at Virginia as Georgetown-vs.-North Carolina, Navy-vs.-Virginia Tech and Maryland-vs.-Duke will not be contested due to a lack of enough pool time.  A random draw was held to determine the six teams which would contest three games over the two-day span.  Due to an uneven number of regular season games for the teams, seeding for the Atlantic Division Championship will occur based on win/loss percentage.

The Atlantic Division Champion will be crowned on Saturday-Sunday, November 1-2, at North Carolina State in Raleigh, N.C. Teams and fans should be aware that games at the Atlantic Division Championship – which also experience a reordering – will use six-minute quarters with one team timeout per half and sudden death overtime.

The victor of the division earns the group’s berth to the 2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 7-9, at a site to be determined.
