ERIE, Pa. — Division III No. 6-ranked Chapman University downed Penn State Behrend, 18-9, in both teams’ opening game at the 2024 Curtis Robinette Invitational hosted by Mercyhurst University.
Susie Carrillo (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North Educational Center) led the way for the Lions with four goals to go along with one assists in the Lions’ season opener.
Freshman Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) delivered her first collegiate goal in the first quarter.
On the defensive end, Carrillo, Nic Darrell (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge), Olivia Wright (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) and Monica Villasenor (San Gabriel, Calif./La Salle) each tallied two steals
In her first collegiate game in net, Villasenor finished with 16 saves
