BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddie Johnson (So., Gwynedd Valley, Pa./Wissahickon) of No. 13-ranked Florida State University scored 16 goals over the span of the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division Championship hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, to lead the Seminoles to the division crown and earn the group’s March 31 Player of the Week award.
The runner-up during the Southeast Division regular season, Florida State claims the program’s third consecutive Southeast Division title as the squad knocked off the Georgia Institute of Technology (11-0 W), the University of Central Florida (8-5 W) and regular season champion the University of Florida “A” (9-7 W) behind the efforts of Johnson.
Facing the Gators for a spot in the 2025 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on Friday-Sunday, April 11-13, Johnson came up big for the Seminoles by scoring five times. In addition, she forced six turnovers in the field to stymie Florida’s attack and allow Florida State to earn a trip to The Pine Tree State for a shot at capturing the National Championship.
