2025 Fordham University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

BRONX, N.Y. — Coming off the team’s most successful season in program history, the four-time defending Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conferenece (MAWPC) champion Fordham University Rams released their 2025 schedule for the upcoming water polo season.   The schedule has the most challenging run to date for the Rams, featuring 13 contests against opponents that received votes in the final poll of 2024, including four that also participated in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.

Right out of the gate, Fordham will compete at Brown University’s Bruno Classic, August 30-31, taking on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University on day one in Providence, Rhode Island, while taking on University of the Pacific and Long Island University on day two in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Week two will be a special one for the Rams at the Princeton Invitational on September 6-7 hosted by Princeton University.  Fordham will open action against the defending national champion Bruins of the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), followed by an exhibition contest against Ferencvaros (FTC) a Hungarian-based club team that recently won the Champions League, on Saturday, September 6.  Fordham then completes the weekend of competition on Sunday, September 7, against Santa Clara University.

After an off week, the Rams start MAWPC play with three road contests on Saturday-Sunday, September 20-21.  Fordham plays at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa, on September 20, while matching up with host Bucknell University and Mount St. Mary’s University the following day at the Bison Invitational.

Starting on Saturday, ,September 27, Fordham will have five straight home contests beginning with NCAA Championship participant Princeton coming to the Messmore Aquatic Center for the start of a home-and-home series with the match at Princeton slated for Saturday, November 1.  The Rams will also face Wagner College later that day in a league match.  Fordham is also scheduled to host Iona University on Friday, October 10, as well as MAWPC opponents the United States Naval Academy and George Washington University on Saturday, October 11.

The Rams then have their longest road trip of the season to the West Coast from Tuesday-Sunday, October 21-26.  The trip begins on October 21 with a road game at Long Beach State University, who the Rams defeated in last year’s NCAA Championship quarterfinals.  Two days later, Fordham makes the trek to Berkeley for a highlight match-up against the University of California on Thursday, October 23.

Fordham will then participate in the annual Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament in Santa Clara, California.  On Friday, October 24, the Rams face the University of California-Merced, while the following day will have another highlight match against fellow 2024 NCAA Championship semifinalist Stanford University on Saturday, October 25.  The trip then concludes against San Jose State University on Sunday, October 26.

Following the second match with Princeton, the Rams then return to league play with road games at George Washington (Sunday, November 2), Navy (November 2) and Wagner (Friday, November 7). 

Fordham then has the programs’ final four regular season games at home, starting with a tripleheader on Saturday, November 8 against Bucknell, Mount St. Mary’s and Mercyhurst to conclude MAWPC play.  The home finale will be on Saturday, November 15, against Brown.

The regular season leads to the 2025 MAWPC Championship, which will be held on Friday-Sunday, November 21-23, in the Bronx at Fordham’s Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center as the Rams will look for their fifth consecutive championship and another NCAA Championship berth.

The NCAA Championship is set for Friday-Sunday, December 5-7, at Stanford in Palo Alto, California.
