BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Jake Miller-Tolt (Sr., Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) of No. 16-ranked Fordham University posted 12 goals, four assists and eight steals during a 1-1 weekend at home in the Bronx to garner recognition as the October 21 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.
Taking on the United States Naval Academy in MAWPC-East Region action and then No. 18 Princeton University on Saturday, October 19, at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center, he aided the Rams’ cause in a 15-12 setback versus the Midshipmen and a 11-10 victory over the Tigers. He either scored or assisted on 16 of Fordham’s 23 goals on the day.
Against Navy in the early game, Miller-Tolt notched five goals, two assists, and four steals as Fordham fell in the MAWPC-East rumble. Squaring off with defending Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion Princeton in the second of the Rams’ back-to-back home games, he recorded a game-high seven goals – including the game-winner in the fourth quarter – to accompany a pair of assists and four steals.
The award marks the seventh weekly honor bestowed on Miller-Tolt during his time at Fordham. Previously named the September 16 MAWPC Co-Player of the Week earlier this season, he earned the October 22 MAWPC Player of the Week award as a junior in 2018. As a sophomore in 2017, he garnered a pair of Player(October 9, November 13) and one Defensive Player (November 6) of the Week nods after receiving Rookie of the Week status as a freshman on October 31, 2016.
