Rick Offsay – Latham & Watkins LLP Biography
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Harvard University men’s water polo athlete and assistant coach Rick Offsay ’05 earned some recognition as the Partner at Latham & Watkins LLP is among The Hollywood Reporter‘s Power Lawyers 2022: Hollywood’s Top 100 Attorneys.
A partner in the Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice, he provides strategic advice to clients across a broad array of transactions. He represents strategic industry participants (including studios, production companies, networks / streamers, and digital media startups) as well as financial investors (including private equity, alternative lenders, and high net worth individuals), and other entertainment, sports, and media clients.
He helps clients through all stages of the business lifecycle, from equity and debt financing to strategic arrangements to exit transactions, with particular experience structuring joint ventures.
A graduate of the Harvard-Westlake School where he played for former Olympic coach Rich Corso, Offsay served as Harvard team captain during both his junior and senior seasons in 2003 and 2004. The team leader in scoring and named Most Valuable Player during both seasons, he garnered All-Northern First Team honors in both 2003 and 2004.
In 2004, he helped Harvard to a second place finish at the Northern Championship – the team’s best finish at the event in school history – prior to claiming Fourth Place at the Eastern Championship. For his performance, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) named him an Honorable Mention All-America selection as Offsay became the third Harvard men’s water polo athlete to earn All-America distinction.
Away from Blodgett Pool, he was a member of the Junior National Team in 2001, helped the United States to a Second Place showing at the Pan-American Championships and a Third Place finish at the Moscow Cup. Playing for both the Northeast National Team and the Los Angeles Water Polo Club, Offsay also competed in the United States Premier League following his graduation from Harvard.
