BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper Sami Hautzinger (Aubrey, Texas/Braswell) and attacker Lucy Pigford (Austin, Texas/Liberal Arts & Science Academy) continue a litany of additions for Austin College as the duo head to Sherman, Texas, as part of the Kangaroos’ latest women’s water polo recruiting class.
They join newcomers/attackers Sophia King (Tomball, Texas/Tomball Memorial), Mikayla Arizmendi (San Antonio, Texas/Harlan), Camila Diarte (San Antonio, Texas/Brandeis), Ashlyn Thomas (Winter Garden, Fla./West Orange), Clara Koenig (Cypress, Texas/Bridgeland), Lexy Hulse (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) and Sophie Johnson (Lantana, Texas/John Guyer) along with goalkeepers Taylor Luckritz (St. Louis, Mo./Oakville) and Amber Ortiz (Alvin, Texas/Alvin) as the ‘Roos seek to claim the program’s third league title following prior Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III crowns in 2021 and 2022.
Last year, Austin finished in second place at the 2024 CWPA Division III Championship hosted by Connecticut College and fourth place at the USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Championship hosted by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
