WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Grove City College women’s water polo team wrapped up the 2025 regular season by earning a 17-13 overtime victory versus Penn State Behrend after dropping an 18-13 game to host/Division III No. 9-ranked Washington & Jefferson College at the Henry Memorial Center pool.

The Wolverines trailed Behrend after three quarters, 10-7, before scoring six times in the fourth quarter to force overtime. The Wolverines then blanked Behrend in the two extra sessions, 4-0.

Sophomore Shastyn Tihansky (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) fired in seven goals to help lead Grove City, while senior Kamryn Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) scored five times. Freshman Frances Baksa (Longwood, Fla./Lake Mary) chipped in three goals and freshman Emma Strahorn (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) added a goal.

Freshman Zoe Luttrell (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) assisted a team-leading three goals. Kerr and Strahorn both had two assists. Tihansky, junior goalie Lea Steen (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) and senior Riley McCullough (Spring, Texas/Oak Ridge) also recorded assists.

Steen stopped a season-high 14 shots. Baksa led the defense with a season-high eight steals, while Tihansky had seven thefts. Strahorn picked up four steals.

Grove City matched W&J goal-for-goal in each of the final three quarters but the Wolverines could not overcome a 7-2 deficit after the first eight minutes.

Kerr scored four goals to help pace Grove City. Baksa and Tihansky each scored three times. Luttrell, Strahorn and junior Candace Scalise (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) added goals in Saturday’s opener.

Baksa and McCullough each totaled three assists while Kerr had two assists. Luttrell, Strahorn and senior Sam Logue (Hollister, Calif./San Benito) also had assists. Kerr led the defense with three steals. Steen stopped three shots.
