BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) wish all of the head and assistant coaches in the league – past and present – a Happy National Coaches Day.
In 1972 President Richard Nixon signed a proclamation declaring October 6 as National Coaches Day. It states: “Coaches are highly qualified teachers—in highly specialized fields. But more than that, they are friends and counselors who help instill in their players important attitudes that will serve them all their lives.”
To the leaders, mentors and friends who spend time coaching the game and helping shape the lives of the leagues’ student-athletes – Thanks.
