2022 Harvard University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Harvard University men’s water polo will host four weekends of home games, make a pair of trips to California, and take part in 10 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) contests as part of its 2022 schedule.

Highlights from the Crimson’s 2022 schedule include four home games from September 3-4 to open the year, the Harvard Invitational from October 15-16, matchups against perennial powers Stanford University and the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) and two tournaments in the state of California at the University of California-Davis and Santa Clara University. Harvard’s season culminates at the 2022 NWPC Championship from November 18-20 at Brown University.

The Crimson’s season begins at home at Blodgett Pool with four games as a part of the Bruno Classic from September 3-4. The Crimson hosts Fordham University and Stanford on September 3 prior to meeting Austin College and California Baptist University on September 4.

Harvard then heads to the West Coast competing at the Aggie Round Up in Davis, Calif., from September 17-18. The team will take on UCLA and Occidental College on September 17 before facing University of the Pacific and the University of California-Irvine on September 18.

The program begins conference play with a trio of NWPC matchups on the road from October 1-2. Harvard plays at Iona College and at St. Francis College Brooklyn on October 1 before playing at Princeton University on October 2. The Crimson remains on the road the following weekend for games at Brown (October 8), at Connecticut College (October 8), and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (October 9).

Harvard returns to Blodgett Pool from October 15-16 to host the Harvard Invitational prior to making its second trip of the season to the West Coast, competing at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament from October 21-23 in Santa Clara, Calif.

Over the final two weekends of the regular season, the Crimson hosts five NWPC contests beginning with Brown and MIT on October 29. Harvard closes the year with home contests against St. Francis Brooklyn (November 5), Iona (November 5) and Princeton (November 6).

The Crimson will compete at the 2022 Northeast Water Polo Conference Championship from November 18-20 at Brown in Providence, R.I., with the winner of the tournament claiming the league’s automatic berth into the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship field.

In 2021, Harvard posted its third-highest win total in program history, compiling a 26-6 overall record and 9-2 NWPC mark. The Crimson earned a ranking as high as No. 11 in the CWPA National Rankings during the season, as Minnis guided a trio of All-America honorees in Noah Hodge, Alex Tsotadze and Gabe Putnam.
