2024 Harvard University Women’s Water Polo Schedule
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Harvard University women’s water polo released its 2024 schedule as head coach Ted Minnis and the Crimson women’s program looks to build upon back-to-back trips to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship game. The Crimson will once again host the Bruno Classic and Harvard Invitational before traveling across the country throughout its 27-game season. The Crimson will host the CWPA Championship tournament to cap off the 2024 slate prior to a hoped for bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship at the University of California’s Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley, Calif.
After returning from Greece for some preseason work, the Crimson open the 2024 campaign with the annual Bruno Classic at Blodgett Pool on Saturday-Sunday, February 3-4. Harvard will face Indiana University and Wagner College on Saturday before taking on La Salle University and Marist College on Sunday.
Harvard then has its first road-trip of the season as it heads down to New Jersey for the Princeton Invitational at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., for a trio of games at DeNunzio Pool. The Crimson will face the host Tigers on Saturday, February 17, before a date with Villanova University later in the day. The women will wrap up the trip to New Jersey with La Salle on Sunday, February 18, before returning home the next weekend for the Harvard Invitational.
Prior to the start of another busy weekend at Blodgett Pool, Harvard will play Brown in CWPA conference play on Friday, February 23, before turning its attention towards Mercyhurst University and the University of California-Davis on Saturday, February 24. Harvard closes the weekend against Santa Clara University and Wagner on Sunday, February 25.
Returning to conference play, the women will head back to DeNunzio Pool on Saturday, March 2, for CWPA matchups against Saint Francis University and Bucknell University before the Crimson’s first regular season matchup with the University of Michigan on Sunday, March 3. Harvard defeated the nationally ranked Wolverines last season on its way to the CWPA Championship title game.
Heading into the break, the Crimson will travel west and play four games over spring vacation starting with Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday, March9. Harvard heads to San Diego for a pair of games against host San Diego State University and Stanford University on Sunday, March 10. To close out the trip to the Golden State, Harvard will face Long Beach State University on Tuesday, March 12.
The Crimson returns to the East Coast for another conference weekend in Pennsylvania with games against host Bucknell University and Michigan on Saturday, April 6, prior to a clash with Saint Francis on Sunday, April 7.
The remainder of the 2024 season regular season slate occurs at Blodgett Pool has Harvard hosts Princeton on Saturday, April 13, before Brown comes to Cambridge on Friday, April 19.
The Crimson will remain at home for the seven-game, 2024 CWPA Championship on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28, as Harvard hosts Brown, Bucknell, Princeton, Michigan and Saint Francis with the league’s title and automatic berth to the NCAA Championship in Berkeley, Calif., at stake.
