PRINCETON, N.J. — The No. 6-ranked Princeton University men’s water polo team scored 11 times in the second half to overwhelm Wagner College, 17-5, to open day two of the Princeton Invitational.
The Tigers scored four of the first goals before Wagner cut its deficit to one at 4-3, with 2:21 remaining in the first half. Princeton scored twice before the second quarter was over and twice in the opening minutes of the second half to push ahead 8-3.
Head coach Dustin Litvak‘s group built its lead to 12-5 to commence the fourth quarter and buried five more strikes in the final stanza to take a 12-goal victory.
Vladan Mitrovic led the Tigers with three goals, while Kristoff Kovacs had six saves in the win.
Finn LeSieur and Luke Johnston deposited pairs of scores, while Gavin Molloy, Mason Killion, Roko Pozaric, JP Ohl, Yurian Quinones, Isaac Rotenberg, Pierce Maloney, Matej Sekulic and George Caras each chipped in solo markers.
