ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team dropped a 25-8 decision to Iona University on the last day of the 2023 Curtis Robinette Memorial Invitational hosted by Mercyhurst University.
Iona held the Lions to a pair of goals in the first quarter for an 8-2 lead heading into the second frame prior to acquiring a 13-2 lead by halftime.
Shannon Young (Roseville, Calif./Roseville) scored a hat trick to go with two steals, while five other players tallied one goal for Penn State Behrend.
Olivia Wright (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) dished out two assists and Sarah Mancebo (Tulare, Calif./Mission Oak) made three saves.
