BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Iona University, Long Beach City College and Fresno State University athlete Jillian Schultz was recently appointed as an assistant coach for the Bucknell University men’s and women’s water polo programs.
A 2023 graduate of Fresno State, she earned All-Golden Coast honorable mention during her senior year for tallying 42 goals, six assists, 23 steals and a team-high 81 exclusions drawn in 27 games for the Bulldogs. In 2002, she notched 17 goals, six assists, 16 field blocks and 21 exclusions drawn in 27 games after not competing in 2021 during a redshirt year at Fresno State.
A former athlete at Long Beach City College during the Fall of 2019, she was named the 2019 South Coast Conference (SCC) Most Valuable Player, an All-South Coast Conference First Team honoree and garnered All-America status in the community college ranks. She led the South Coast Conference in goals (96) and steals (48), along with accounting for team high marks in field blocks (nine) and ejections drawn (10) while helping the squad to its fourth consecutive SCC crown.
The Tinley Park, Ill., native and Mother McAuley High School graduate started her intercollegiate career during the Spring 2019 season at Iona University in New Rochelle, N.Y. During her freshman season at Iona, she racked up 74 goals, 46 steals and 92 kickouts drawn in 33 games.
