BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Due to the suspension of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Loyola University (Chicago) for their failure to show up at the Great Lake Division championship tournament, and the withdrawal of Saint Louis University from the Missouri Valley Division prior to the season, the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) will merge both divisions for the 2025 season.
As both the Great Lakes and Missouri Valley Divisions now both have four teams, the divisions will merge for the 2025 season unless several new teams are added to both groups.
Each division (Great Lakes Missouri Valley) will maintain a bid to the National Collegiate Club Championship for one year to see if each group can rebuild its participation. If not enough teams join to meet the minimum requirement of five teams per division, there will only be one bid in 2026 for the combined division.
