ERIE, Pa. — The Mercyhurst University men’s water polo team finished its four game sweep at the Laker Invitational, taking down La Salle University, 12-6, and Penn State Behrend, 10-6, at the Prep/Villa Events Center.

Connor Schmitz recorded three goals and one assist and Matt Bachler scored two goals and two assists, leading the way for Mercyhurst versus La Salle.

Ryan Witoslawski scored two goals while single goals were given to Alex Cappuccio, Daniel Alvarez, Philip Jenny, Spencer Saban and Otis Tyson. Saban contributed one assist to the Mercyhurst effort while Jenny complied one assist and five steals.

Goalie Nash Greeven made five saves and recorded four steals.

Ash Lyne scored four goals for La Salle. Goalie Owain Llewellyn made eight saves.

Facing Penn State Behrend, Shaquille Mitchell, Alec Diaz and Alvarez put in two goals each. Cappuccio, Witoslawski, Jenny and Saban each recorded one goal. Saban also had an assist.

Bachler had two assists while single assists were given to Ryan MercandoAndrew Howe and Schmitz.

Jenny contributed five steals for the Lakers while Cappuccio and Alvarez had three steals.

Greeven controlled the back, recording seven saves and adding two steals.

Matt Ollmski had 26 saves and Isaak Hatopp put in two goals for PSB.
