NEW ROCHELLE/BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. — No. 11-ranked Harvard University defeated Iona University, 17-11, and No. 19 St. Francis College Brooklyn, 18-9, in a pair of Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) road games in the Empire State.
James Rozolis-Hill led the charge offensively by tallying 12 goals on the day. Michael Sonsini was all over the score sheet as he tallied four goals and four assists, while senior Alex Tsotadze scored six goals over each win. Both Tanner Furtak and Noah Hodge earned victories in cage.
Facing Iona in a morning contest, Rozolis-Hill racked up six goals, registered two steals, and had four knockouts drawn. His six-goal performance marks a career-high for the first- year.
Gabe Putnam, Tyler Zarcu and Alex James all scored a goal each, while Sonsini notched two assists with a goal.
Tsotadze scored twice and Owen Hale ripped in three goals for a hat-trick.
Furtak made nine saves in the victory to raise his career record to 3-0.
Taking on the nationally-ranked Terriers of St. Francis Brooklyn, Rozolis-Hill reeled off his second six-goal game of the day.
Mot Stothart and Cam Dougherty both found the back of the net twice. Tsotadze scored four times, while also registering two assists to accompany a hat-trick by Sonsini who also dished out a pair of helpers.
Kaleb Archer, Alexandru Bucur and Hale zipped in solo markers in support of a 15 save performance by Hodge.
