ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Bucknell University dropped a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) match to No. 13-ranked Harvard University, 18-5, at the University of Michigan’s Canham Natatorium. The Bison fell behind and never had a chance to catch up to the Crimson.
Harvard scored six goals in the opening eight minutes and ran its lead to 4-0 before Gwen Kallmeyer tallied the first of her two scores. Olivia Hopper, Bucknell’s leading scorer this season, grabbed a goal, but Harvard converted two more for a 6-2 advantage.
Kallmeyer and Finkler each scored a goal in the second quarter to keep up with the Crimson’s output. The Bison trailed 12-4 at halftime.
Harvard put the game to bed in the third quarter by outscoring the Bison 4-0.
Caitlin Stott produced a goal in the fourth quarter, but Harvard added two more tallies for in claiming an 18-5 victory.
