No. 14 Boston University-vs.-No. 14 University of Oregon Scoresheet (2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship– Game #7)

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Liam Egan (Gr., Shingle Springs, Calif.) scored six times and Justin Kam (So., San Diego, Calif.) chipped in five more as the duo share Player of the Game honors for leading New England Division Champion/No. 14-ranked Boston University to an 18-12 defeat of Northwest Division Champion/No. 14 the University of Oregon in the first round of the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Florida’s Ann Marie Rogers Swimming & Diving Pool in the O’Connell Center.

The victory advances Boston University to an 11:20 a.m. Eastern quarterfinal on Saturday, November 9, versus tournament host/Florida Division Champion/No. 4 the University of Florida – which defeated Missouri Valley Division Champion Iowa State University by a 27-5 score earlier today.  Oregon – which can not place higher than Ninth due to the loss to Boston University – drops into the consolation side of the 16-team championship bracket and will return to action at 8:40 p.m. later this evening against Iowa State.

For Boston University, Kostantinos Kontodimas (Gr, Athens, Greece), Hoku Eggertsen (Gr., Ashland, Ore.) and Jaden Chen (Jr., Irvine, Calif.) contributed pairs of goals to accompany a solo marker from Sam Silverman (Gr., Framingham) in support of a combined nine-save performance by netminders Parker Frost (Sr., San Diego, Calif.) and Demir Genc (Jr., Saratoga, Calif.).

Across the tank, David Morales (Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.) (three), Carter Sloane (Jr., Carlsbad, Calif.) (two), David Mitrovcan Morgan (Jr., Portland, Ore.) (two) and Will Rowell (So., Palo Alto, Calif.) (two) notched multi-goal games for Oregon with Rylan Hopp (Fr., Seattle, Wash.), Jimmy Snell (Jr., Los Altos, Calif.) and Gaven Brady (Jr., San Diego, Calif.) chipping in solo tallies.  Sam Lao (Jr., San Jose, Calif.) took the loss for the Ducks with 13 saves.
