No. 14 University of Oregon-vs.-No. 14 Pennsylvania State University Scoresheet (2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship – Game #18)

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Ryan McLaughlin (Sr., Blue Bell, Pa.) scored eight times to earn Player of the Game notice as Mid-Atlantic Division Champion/No. 14-ranked Pennsylvania State University overcame Northwest Division Champion/No. 14 the University of Oregon, 16-11, to make the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship Ninth Place game.

PSU will return to the water at 2:15 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, November 10, against Rocky Mountain Division Champion/No. 17 the University of Colorado in a battle for Ninth Place.  Oregon will hit the water at 3:30 p.m. on November 10 against Big  Ten Division Champion/No. 7 the University of Michigan in a battle for 11th Place. 

Trailing 3-2 with 2:25 left in the first quarter, the Nittany Lions took command of the contest to go ahead 6-4 by the conclusion of the opening frame prior to gaining a 10-8 lead entering halftime.  The margin grew to 15-10 by the termination of the third quarter before both teams dented the twine once in the concluding seven minutes for the 16-11 final score.
