CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Amy Castellano scored a career-high six goals as the No. 15-ranked Princeton University Tigers rolled by the Saint Francis University Red Flash, 15-5, at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) league competition.
Castellano’s six tallies are tied for the third most in a single-game in program history and give her 67 on the season. With three more goals, she will become just the 10th player ever to reach 70 goals in a single-season.
Tied at two-all after eight minutes, Princeton pitched a shutout for over the next 12 minutes of game action, ripping off four straight tallies. The Tigers held a 6-2 advantage before the Red Flash finally scored again at the 5:17 mark of the third quarter.
Princeton pushed its advantage back to five before taking a 9-5 margin into the final frame. The Tigers put the stamp on a decisive victory with six straight goals in the fourth stanza and held Saint Francis without a tally for the final 9:25 in to claim a 10-goal victory.
