No. 16 United States Military Academy-vs.-No. 14 University of Washington Scoresheet (2022 National Collegiate Club Championship – Game #24)

NEWBERG, Ore. — Nick FIndley (Jr., Tacoma, Wash.) scored six times to lead the way as No. 14-ranked/Northwest Division Champion the University of Washington survived a comeback attempt by No. 16/New York Division the United States Military Academy, 13-11, to claim a 13th/15th Place game at the 2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.

Competing at the Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center in the final contest of the championship tournament for both programs at the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship, Washington trailed 3-2 at the conclusion of the first quarter.

However, the Huskies gained control of the game by outscoring Army 4-1 and 5-1 in the second and third quarters to acquire an 11-6 lead through 21 minutes of action.  Leading 12-7 with 6:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Huskies held off a comeback bid by the Cadets as Army outscored Washington 4-1 over the remainder of the contest to close the final differential to two.

For Army, Robert Demont (So., Riverbank, Calif.), Carter Highum (So., Carmel, Ind.), Thomas Beggs (Sr., Bloomington, Ind.) and Wesley Baca (So., Englewood, Calif.) accounted for pairs.  Jeremy Poster (So., San Anselmo, Calif.), Daniel Reimchen (Sr., Lake Orion, Mich.) and Christopher Perera (Fr., Sharonville, Ohio) posted single goals with goalies Mason Calbert (Sr., Valley Center, Calif.) and Ikaria Falvey (Jr., Novato, Calif.) combining for 11 saves.

Findley (six) powered the Washington attack with Memphis Woods (Fr., Seattle, Wash.) and Griffin Hallahar (Jr., Seattle, Wash.) posting pairs.  Truman Sulewski (Sr., Auburn, Wash.), Matt Mulfinger (Sr., Bellevue, Wash.) and Kevin Zhang (Fr., Seattle, Wash.) notched solo scores.

Liam Griffith (Jr., Castro Valley, Calif.) stopped 10 shots in cage to earn the win.
