BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 25-ranked Indiana University built a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in topping first-year varsity program Wittenberg University, 23-2, at home in the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

Wittenberg broke through to sting the Hoosiers with an unassisted strike by Savanah Phillips (Jr., San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) 56 seconds into the second quarter to pull within 7-1, but Indiana rattled off back-to-back tallies at 6:22 and 5:46 to move a head 9-1.  The Tigers closed out their scoring with 5:28 left in the first half as Phillips converted on a feed from Emma Menjivar (Fr., Moreno Valley, Calif./Canyon Springs) to close the gap to 9-2.

However, Indiana dominated the contest over the remaining time as the Hoosiers carried a 13-2 lead into halftime prior to outscoring Wittenberg 4-0 and 6-0 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

In cage, Anya Bennett (Fr., Portland, Ore./Lincoln) made six saves in taking the loss for the Tigers.

Hannah Falls-Hand led the way for Indiana with six goals and three assists, while Carlie Crumbaugh added five goals and an assist. Sarah Greeven earned the win with seven saves in the first quarter prior to Mary Askew (two saves, two goals allowed, eight minutes) and Davis Simmons (two saves, 16 minutes) closing out the contest.
