LONG BEACH, Calif. — Bucknell University received action from seven different goal scorers but fall 25-7 to No. 7-ranked Long Beach State University. The Bison defense fought gamely but was no match for The Beach’s offense.

The Beach scored five goals before Caitlin Stott found the net. That encouraged the Bison and Campbell Collins dented the twine for a second straight goal. The momentum was short-lived as LBSU finished the quarter with four more goals.

Long Beach ran its run to 6-0 before Ashley Hopper tallied a score. The Bison would score no more as the Beach provided three more net-finders for the halftime mark of 14-3.

Bucknell scored back-to-back goals from Boati Motau and Hayden Hedstrom when the score was 16-3. Once again, Bucknell’s short offensive bursts woke the Beach and the nationally ranked foe ended the frame on a 5-0 run.

The Bison scored two goals in the final period to LBSU’s four.  Malli Challa went first and Olivia Hopper provided the final Bison score.
