PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 8-ranked Princeton University Tigers finished off a perfect home record by taking down No. 20 St. Francis College Brooklyn, 11-8, and Iona University, 14-5, at home in DeNunzio Pool.
Princeton finish 10-0 at home, its first undefeated regular season record at home since 2014.
Versus St. Francis Brooklyn, the Tigers scored three of the first four goals of the contest and held a 3-2 advantage after eight minutes. Princeton stretched its lead to three, but the Terriers closed the gap to one before a tally from Keller Maloney made the NWPC contest, 6-4, at halftime.
Yurian Quinones‘ goal gave Princeton an 8-5 lead as the two conference rivals headed into the fourth quarter. The Terriers closed the gap to two three separate times in the final frame, but could not get any closer.
Quinones led the way for Princeton with three goals. West Temkin made 18 saves to earn the win in cage.
Prior to the game versus Iona, Princeton honored the Class of 2023, a group that’s won 62 games and the 2021 NWPC title.
The Tigers pitched a shutout in the first half, rolling out to an 8-0 lead. Princeton led 12-1 after three quarters and cruised to its seventh straight victory.
Quinones and George Caras led the Tigers’ attack with pairs of goals in support of a 12 save performance by Antonio Knez.
