SANTA CLARA, Calif. — No. 9-ranked Princeton University took care of business with defeats of Fresno Pacific University, 19-10, and No. 16 California Baptist University, 18-7, on the second day of the 2022 Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament hosted by Santa Clara University.

Taking on Fresno Pacific, the Tigers scored the final two goals of the first quarter from Keller and Pierce Maloney to take a 4-3 lead after eight minutes of action.

Even at four-all in the second quarter, the Tigers scored five of the next six goals to jump ahead 9-5 by halftime. Head coach Dustin Litvak‘s group began the second half with a four-goal spurt to expand its advantage to eight, 13-5, and was not threatened the rest of the way.

Five different Tigers had at least two goals in the game highlighted by four tallies and two assists from Keller Maloney

Roko Pozaric (three goals, one assist), JP Ohl (two goals, two assists), Yurian Quinones (two goals, two assists), Gavin Molloy (one goal), Pierce Maloney (one goal), Matej Sekulic (one goal, one assist), Joan Coloma (one goal, one assist), Rees Barnes (one goal), Logan McCarroll (one goal), Ryan Neapole (four assists), Vladan Mitrovic (one assist), Isaac Rotenberg (one assist), Alex Roose (one assist) and Antonio Knez (one assist) aided the offense.

On defense, Pierce Maloney added four steals with Quinones and Pozaric both posting four thefts.  Knez made five saves in cage.

In the nightcap against the Lancers of Cal Baptist, Princeton scored six of the first seven goals in the contest to snag an early lead. Princeton cruised to a 10-2 lead at halftime and was not pushed in the second half.

The Tigers had 10 different goal scorers in the win as Pozaric (three), Keller Maloney (three), Ohl (two), Quinones (two), Mitrovic (two), Coloma, Pierce Molloy, Neapole, McCarroll and Luke Johnston found the back of the cage.  

In cage, Knez stopped 15 shots to claim his second victory in as many contests.
