WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team dropped non-conference games against Grove City College, 17-13, in overtime and host/Division III No. 9-ranked Washington & Jefferson College.
Against Grove City, Behrend controlled a 10-7 lead after three quarters, led by a pair of goals from Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) and Lauren True (Denton, Texas/Guyer).
Sophomore Dylan Scherping (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) tallied two scores in the fourth quarter
However, the Wolverines scored a goal with one second left in regulation to knot the score at 13 apiece and forced overtime
Grove City ended up grabbing four scores in the overtime periods to secure the win.
The Lions closed out the day in a loss to W&J as Rickerd recorded a hat trick for Behrend against the Presidents
True, Scherping and Susie Carrillo (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North Educational Center) also found the back of the net in the loss to the Presidents.
