BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s Shannon Young (Fr., Roseville, Calif./Roseville) scored seven goals in a pair of games on March 9-10 in California to earn recognition as the March 16 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.
A first-time selection in the weekly league honors program, Young pounded in three goals during a 19-8 loss at Division III No. 9-ranked Occidental College on Monday, March 9, prior to connecting on four shots in a 13-10 handling of the California Institute of Technology on Tuesday, March 10.
In addition, she added five assists, pairs of field blocks and steals along with a drawn kickout and a penalty drawn to help the Lions conclude the season on a winning note.
