ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Augustana College men’s and women’s water polo head coach Ryan Pryor announced the appointment of Peter Ollis as an assistant coach for the 2021-22 academic year.  Prior to joining Augustana, Ollis has been involved in collegiate water polo for the past decade and Midwest water polo for over five years as an athlete and coach.

Previously, Ollis spent the past five years as the head coach for the men’s and women’s water polo teams at Monmouth College. During his time with Monmouth he led the women’s water polo team to record win totals, multiple national rankings, a conference player of the year, three All-America and 10 All-Conference awards. With the men’s program, Ollis led the team to record win totals, an All-America and three All-Conference honors. Additionally, both programs received multiple Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete and Association of Collegiate Water Polo Association (ACWPC) All-Academic nods.  Further, Ollis was named the 2019 CWPA Women’s Division III Coach of the Year.

In addition to his role at Monmouth, Ollis also worked for USA Water Polo as the head coach for the Midwest women’s youth team. In this role, Ollis coached high school athletes throughout the Midwest and worked with the national team staff on developing a national pipeline.

Prior to his role at Monmouth College, Ollis was the graduate assistant for the women’s water polo team at Utica College. In this role Ollis helped lead the program to their highest conference placements, two All-American and a pair of All-Conference awards and multiple academic honors.

In addition to these water polo duites roles, Ollis served as an assistant swimming and diving coach at both Monmouth and Utica.

Ollis completed his undergraduate education and competed for the men’s collegiate club water polo team at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) in Sociology and Psychology and his master’s degree at Utica College in Cyber Security.
