2021 Princeton University Men’s Water Polo Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. — The Princeton University men’s water polo team has announced its 2021 schedule.
“After a year away from competition, we could not be more excited to get back in the pool and represent our university,” said head coach Dustin Litvak. “Once again, we have filled our schedule with some of the top teams from both coasts as consistent with our goal of building a program that is competitive with everyone. We will be tested early as our first two weekends include games against Cal, Stanford, Cal Baptist and Bucknell, all of whom played in the NCAA tournament this past spring. After that we head to California to take on three very good opponents as we continue to test ourselves, learn, and progress, heading into conference play and the post-season.”
The 2021 season gets underway at the United States Naval Academy Invitational (September 4-5) in Annapolis, Md. The Tigers battle Mount St. Mary’s University, George Washington University, the University of California and Johns Hopkins University. The following week, Litvak’s group hosts the Princeton Invitational (September 10-12) with contests versus California Baptist University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins, Bucknell University and Fordham University.
Princeton makes its first trip to California with battles against Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University and the University of California-Irvine (September 18-19). The Tigers head back home for games versus Navy and Wagner College to finish off September.
October begins with Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) action against Harvard University, Brown University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (October 2-3). The following weekend, Princeton travels to Iona College and St. Francis College Brooklyn.
Another West Coast trip is up next as the Tigers take on University of the Pacific (October 18), California (October 29) and the Santa Clara Invitational (October 22-24) at Santa Clara University. October wraps up with road games meetings at Harvard, MIT and Brown (October 30-31).
The regular season finishes with home contests against St. Francis Brooklyn and Iona on November 6 prior to the NWPC Championship at home in DeNunzio Pool from November 19-21. The victor of the NWPC Championship earns the league’s automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
