LORETTO, Pa. — The Saint Francis University women’s water polo team notched the program’s first signee of the 2022 class as Grace Raquel announced she would be joining SFU. Raquel is a native of Naperville, Illinois, and will be positioned as a goalie for the Red Flash.
A future graduate of Naperville High School and the East Side Water Polo Club, Raquel was a four-year letter winner with a First Team All-Sectional selection in 2019 and 2021. A First Team All-State pick in 2021, she claimed USA Water Polo All-Academic recognition in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Further, her team was recognized as Illinois State Champions in 2021.
Head Coach Jay O’Neil noted, “We are very excited to have Grace joining the Red Flash Family. She will immediately compete for starting minutes in the goal and her fall training will give her an edge when entering the college game. The team is ready and thrilled to welcome her to campus this Spring.”
Raquel intends to major in psychology at Saint Francis University.
