BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — The Saint Francis University water polo went 1-2 during the Indiana University Classic as the Red Flash burned Villanova University in overtime, 11-10, but suffered setbacks against the host/No. 15-ranked Hoosiers, 14-6, and No. 25 California Baptist University, 12-4. 

On Friday, February 14, the host Hoosiers of Indiana overcame the Red Flash.  Sophomore Breanna Dupperon (Regina, Canada/Campbell Collegiate) and freshman Taylor Halbauer (Edmonton, Canada/Mother Maragret Mary) both notched hat-tricks in the loss for Saint Francis.

On Saturday, February 15, SFU edged Villanova in overtime.  Freshman Haiden Lang (Placentia, Calif./Esperanza) tallied three goals for the Red Flash, while fellow first-year Addison Williams (Clovis, Calif./Sanger) swished a pair.

Down by one in the waning seconds of the game, freshman Carissa Semple (Sakatchewan, Canada) scored the tying goal with 42 seconds left in the game to force overtime. Halbauer posted the game-winner in overtime when she tallied her third goal of the matchup to provide SFU the deciding difference.

Facing Cal Baptist on Sunday, February 16, SFU converted on four-of-24 shots to take a loss. Halbauer and Williams both had another goal each, while junior Metztli Enriquez (Atwater, Calif./El Capitan) and Semple also scored once for the Red Flash.
