LORETTO, Pa. — Saint Francis Univeristy head water polo coach Jay O’Neil bolstered his 2020-21 roster with the signing of Hungarian National Team attacker Emese Szucs.

“We are extremely excited to add Emese to the Red Flash Family,” said O’Neil.  “She brings with her a wealth of international and high-level experience.  Her speed, shooting ability, and vision will surely have an immediate impact on the team, and her tenacity and quick recognition will add to our team counter attack.”

Szucs has enjoyed tremendous experience at the international level, winning a gold medal with Hungary at the 2015 National Championships and a silver medal at the 2016, 17 and 2019 National Championships. She has appearances with the Hungarian National Team at the U-13, U-15 and U-17 level and currently plays for POLO Sport Club.

The Red Flash registered a record of 6-13 before its season was cut short. The young squad showed improvement through the course of the season and ended the season on a two-game win streak.
