SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Red Flash of Saint Francis University managed Division III No. 5-ranked Austin College, 13-7, and dropped an 11-5 contest to No. 13 the University of California-San Diego at the San Diego State University Aztec Invitational.
In the opener versus the defending Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division II Champion Kangaroos, Addison Williams led the Red Flash with five goals. Kayla Rhoads deposited three goals, while Taylor Halbauer posted two goals with Emese Szucs, Abbie Carter, and Rebecca Pendleton each tallying one goal.
Grace Raquel got the start for the Red Flash and registered 13 saves in the inaugural meeting between Saint Francis and Austin in women’s water polo.
The Tritons of UC-San Diego prevented the Red Flash from picking up another victory on the day.
Halbauer and Szucs both scored twice with Williams also finding the twine.
Isabel Lumley registered seven saves in cage for Saint Francis which falls to 0-2 all-time against UC-San Diego following a 14-6 Tritons’ victory on March 3, 2019 at the University of Michigan.
